Methods for Red Wine Stain Removal

A glass of red wine can make and break a party. The important thing to remember is to perform red wine stain removal while the stain is still wet. Dried red wine stain can be difficult to remove.

Here are some remedies for red wine stain removal

1.  Nothing beats water in red wine stain removal. That is, again, when red wine stain is still wet. If water is not available, you can also use club soda in red wine stain removal, or white wine. Use a spray bottle. Then pat the outside edges of the stain to keep the stain from spreading.

2.   Red wine stain removal for dry-clean fabrics should not be done at home. For these fabrics, you must take them to the dry-cleaners immediately. Trying to fix it can cause more damage.

3.  You can also use hydrogen peroxide and soap in red wine stain removal procedure. Mix equal quantity of liquid soap and hydrogen peroxide in a container. Apply the mixture on to the stain and let it sit for a minute. Pat the stained part of the fabric gently, until the stain is gone. Wash the fabric using cold water. Make sure to check the washing instructions of the fabric.

4.   For removing red wine stain using hydrogen peroxide and soap on carpets, apply hydrogen peroxide on stain and then give it a few minutes to sink in carpet fibers. On a spray bottle, mix water and carpet cleaner, and then spray it on the stain. Dab with a clean cloth or towel until stain has been removed.

5.  Water, vinegar and soap can also be used in removing red wine stain. Mix water vinegar and soap in a container. Soak a towel onto the mixture and dab the towel onto the stain. When the stain is completely removed, pat the stained area with a cloth dipped in cold water. Lastly, pat the stain with dry cloth or towel.

6.  When using white wine in removing red wine stain, apply a few drops of wine onto the stain and dab with clean rag or towel. Do not rub or wipe the red wine stain. When the red wine stain has been removed, continue with the normal washing or cleaning.

7.   Salt can also go a long way in removing red wine stains. Apply a thick layer of salt onto the stain to prevent from drying and spreading, and then vacuum the salt.
