Perspiration Stain Removal Tips



There is nothing more aggravating than having perspiration stains on your clothing and looking at perspiration stain removal problem on a daily basis. Perspiration stains occur when perspiration or sweating mixes with bacteria on the body or the aluminum in your deodorant. The clothing that you are wearing then becomes stained especially around the armpit area. • Rub out perspiration stains on clothing by dabbing the area with a half-strength solution of ammonia and water before laundering
• Crush two regular strength Aspirin and mix the powder in ½ cup of warm water. Soak the perspiration stains in this solution for two to three hours before laundering
• Pre-treat any perspiration stains in a paste made from ¼ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup of warm water and rub into the stain. Leave this paste on until you launder three to four hours later
• Simply mix equal parts of lemon juice or white vinegar with water and soak the perspiration stains for a few minutes before laundering
• Because it is a protein-based perspiration, wet down the stain or the whole garment if it is soaked in perspiration. Then sprinkle with meat tenderizer and let sit for a few minutes. Launder as per usual
• Another perspiration stain removal technique is to dissolve 4 tablespoons of salt in 1 quart of hot water. Sponge the garment with the solution until the stain disappears
• Try baking soda and water made into a soft paste. Spread onto the perspiration stains and let sit until it is laundry time
• Make up a solution of ¼ cup peroxide, ¼ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup water and put a towel on the counter. Spread the perspiration stain on the towel and spread the solution. Let sit and then wash

For perspiration stain removal from leather, you can  try the following:

• Take liquid dish soap and an equal amount of warm water. Swish vigorously or beat with a whipper until there are suds and foam galore. Take a clean sponge and dab into the suds only and wipe the perspiration stains with the suds. Don’t over wet the stains and dab carefully

• Vinyl clothing can use a stronger solution of a few drops of ammonia mixed with warm water. Take a sponge and dab away at the perspiration until the stain is removed

Perspiration stains are unfortunate and unsightly. They can’t be prevented by most humans and should be treated right away during laundry day. Unwashable clothing might need a dry cleaner or a dry cleaning kit with pre-soaking liquid. The best idea is to treat the stains with pre-soaking or spraying with a commercial stain remover. Otherwise treat the perspiration stain removal with the above ideas and have a much happier day.
