Before trying to deal with carpet stain removal, you need to  first determine the type of stain you have.

Once you determine the substance that was spilled, just follow my recommended instructions that in removing that particular type of carpet spill or stain.

Protein spill spots are made up of food and body fluids. You should make use of cleaning products that contain enzymes on a clean cloth or paper towel and the blot the area. The enzymes will help eat up the carpet stain. Remember not to use hot water as that will set the stain and make the job way harder.

Tannin based carpet stains are those made up of coffee, soda or tea. These types of stains need to be cleaned immediately before they can dry up, otherwise they may become permanent. Use a clean white towel or paper with laundry detergent and cool water to blot the spill. Once that has been done add a cup of white vinegar and water and apply it to the spill using a sponge. Blot once again with a clean white towel and your carpet will be clean before you know it.

The last type of carpet stain we will look at are oil based carpet stains. Carpet stain removal for this type of stain involves using  a clear dish soap that can cut grease. If this doesn’t cut the grease effectively, use rubbing alcohol and apply to the spot. Blot using a towel until the stain is gone.

Another stain that you may have to deal with on your favorite carpet is ink. Ink stain removal can be tough, but just remember not to delay. You need to act fast to prevent the ink from setting. The most effective way to remove ink stains from your carpet is by using rubbing alcohol. Just use a clean white cloth and blot it carefully on the ink stained area. Do not pour the alcohol directly on the carpet; you don’t want to spread the ink even more by doing so. I do hope these carpet stain removal tips are helpful; please let me know what you think.
